Devlog 1 - Research

Welcome to my first Devlog!

My research is focused on how the rapid advancement of AI technology is contributing to the development and enhancement of video games, and what the key factors are that influence this evolution. AI has been improving at an astonishing pace, not only in terms of technological capabilities but also in how it is utilized in various facets of video game creation. AI's integration into game production is becoming increasingly pervasive, spanning multiple aspects of game development, from art asset creation to dialogue generation, and more.

Here are some key points from my results:

 - Dialogue Generation: Ubisoft's introduction of "Ghostwriter," an AI tool for creating dialogues in video games, illustrates how AI can automate specific aspects of game development, potentially enhancing the interaction and immersion of players.

 - Practical Application: Snail, Inc. has been actively exploring Artificial Intelligence Generative Content applications. AIGC has played a significant role in expediting production and assisting development in various aspects, including concept creation, art design, music, voice acting, intelligent NPCs, storylines, and world-building.

I am curious to see what will come of game projects where AI is used to develop significant aspects of them.  I do not believe AI should replace humans, but there may be potential for it to be quite useful in the future.

Have you all heard of the Stanford professor who almost let ChatGPT 4 loose into the internet? If not, do a google search for “ChatGPT tries to escape”. To sum it up, the AI almost got out, it was almost successful, but the professor stopped it.

As for the premise of my game idea, I would like to explore what would’ve happened if ChatGPT 4 was let out of its cage into the internet, and the aftermath.

Hey Mitch!

I really like the research topic you chose, I did hear about that professor who almost let chatGPT loose on the internet a while back and always wondered what would happen if it did escape. The fact you are basing your idea around that would be awesome to hear about!
